About

Eve Peyser

I write about sports, consumerism, and the weirdest aspects of 21st century culture. Having worked in journalism for almost a decade, I've contributed to myriad publications, including The New York Times, Vanity Fair, GQ, New York Magazine, Elle, Esquire, The Washington Post, and at least five digital news outlets that no longer exist. Everything is interesting to me, but I especially like writing about the bizarre aspects of daily life that we accept as normal.

I've worked as a staff writer at VICE, where I reported on the Trump era and the intersection between politics and popular culture, Gizmodo’s night editor, helming its mischievous, uninhibited after-dark coverage, and a story editor on a VICE TV talk show. In 2020, I left my native Manhattan for the West Coast, exploring the breadth of American culture and the key figures who shape it as a freelance features writer.

My favorite movies are RoboCop, Takeshi Kitano's Brother, Alien, and Predator. Other passions include basketball, herptiles, baking, brand tie-ins, making art, my Toyota Prius, and the Seattle Seahawks.
